The second challenger was a product of the martial arts craze of the time and, as is often the case in the video game world, was only slightly tougher than the the previous challenger.
That's not to say the Fighter couldn't provide plenty of trouble if you let him. All he needed was an opening and he was all over you with karate kicks and chops.
