1998Cubs

In 1998 the Cubs won the wild card, Sosa hit 66 home runs, Kerry Wood got 20 strikeouts. "The clock struck midnight and the Cubbies turned back to pumpkins," one writer put it. 1998 was nothing but luck. So the Cubs won the wild card. The so called "magical season" was put to an end when the Atlanta Braves sat back, relaxed, and swept the Cubs right out of the place they didn't belong, the post-season. The Braves outscored the Cubs in the three games 15-4. In game three it all came crashing down in the 8th when Eddie Perez hit grand slam off Rod Beck giving the Braves a 6 run lead.
