Glimpses of Molly and Leif

We continue not to have home internet access, so updates are relatively infrequent. Watch for sporadic updates!

In the meanwhile, Leif is 10 and loves living in Arizona. He's very healthy, and growing like mad. He's now in senior elementary - officially a fourth year. He loves math and outdoor environment, as well as creating funky art projects. He's a huge fan of Hannah Montana, Star Wars, and Avatar. Give him a set of Star Wars Galactic Heroes, and he's set for the day.

Overall, Leif is a typical 10 year old. He does have an IEP at school, with a classification of Other Health Impairment (OHI), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). He began speech when he was 4 years old, and continues to receive intensive speech therapy for speech-language delays. He also gets intensive daily reading/language support, and has occupational therapy. He is making great progress, and actually has begun to read books to his younger cousin. He had a cardiolgy appointment in the fall of '05 that declared him "asymptomatic", and was impressed he's in the 50th percentile for height and weight. His check-ups since then have repeated the same findings. Amazing! Leif could care less - he has better things to do with his time. He continues to swim and bike and play all kinds of games. He loves hiking, and has participated in several 5ks with his aunt and grandparents.
