There is simply no room for unfavorable emotions if love is full and running over. There is no need of concern for getting rid of anger, fear, hate, guilt, depression or worry. They simply will not exist if we allow God to fill our cup with love. Someone asks, "How can I gain this total ideal love in my life?" Once we have accepted Christ into our life, we already have it. Thanking God every minute, every hour, every day helps keep an awareness of this inner power of love. The more we offer gratitude, the stronger we feel it. Stress can block favorable emotions. Tensions must be released before exercising the favorable emotions is possible. If one has a toothache but only takes aspirin, the pain may be diminished temporarily but the source of the problem is still present. If a car has a spot of rust, it can be covered with a can of spray paint but that is not removing the source of the problem. What is causing the tension? What can we do to convert the stress to relaxation? Taking quiet time to allow the Holy Spirit to minister to our needs gives the answer. Submitting to what is necessary to release tensions will send the unfavorables flying away. We can grab hold of our senses and give them our attention so there will be no room left for the foreboding to return. We can laugh aloud, squeal, jump, smile, send someone a love message, anything to induce joyful emotions. We can take a walk and absorb what we see, hear and smell in our surrounding natural beauty. We can taste the richness and touch the softness of our world. It is not a thought process which, by concentrating, becomes stronger. It is an action. Giving gratitude to God for his gifts of nature and giving of self to others offer avenues for experiencing love through our senses. It is not a responsibility to place on others. Only self is accountable, no matter what is happening. Others may be a channel through which happiness, well-being and prosperity flow, but they are not the cause. The source is God. Love begets love. As we give love, we receive love. Planting the seed brings an abundant crop. (`~`*`~`)`~`*`~`(`~`*`~`)`~`*`~`(`~`*`~`)`~`*``~` (`~`*`~`) Revealing By Dusty Reed What do we reveal to others about ourselves? Do we show a favorable personality, full of joy? What traits are within, waiting to be exercised? A list of favorable adjectives can be put to good use. A list of traits as observed by others can be a helpful tool. Keeping our desired traits in awareness and practicing those we want others to see can offer a healthy exercise. What talents do we want to bring to our surrounding world? Is there a special enjoyment? Baking bread, playing a musical instrument, painting, public speaking, a craft, visiting with shut-ins, working with flowers or puttering in the garden can provide a wealth of gifts we can offer to others. Developing a talent into a service brings rewards rich beyond measure. Life is for joy in every moment. Being happy with ourselves comes through giving of ourselves. Some sites I recommend:
