This section will give you the background of the tank and what I am using.  This part will be very helpful if you plan to create a Mini Reef tank identical to mine.

TANK:

I am using an All Glass Aquarium.  Dimensions are 24x12x20, holding 25 gallon of water.  I know that many people believe that this is a small size for a reef aquarium.  My philosophy is, if you take the time and money, you wont have any problems.

FILTRATION:

A Fluval 240 does it for me.  I using bio balls in all chambers except one.  I have a pouch of activated carbon in one.  I think everybody should use this.  It will help get away those horrible little gasses and stuff we do not want.

PROTEIN SKIMMER:

It is a new one out there.  Its called the Prizm Skimmer.  It is perfect for a small tank like this.  Believe me, it works wonders.  I used the SeaClone before this one and I had nothing but problems!

POWERHEAD(s):

I am only using one right know.  That may change though on popular demand.  I would like to know some opinions out there on this.  Anyway its a Maxi-jet 201, it pumps about 125 gph.  Again I am not sure if its to small or not.

HEATER:

Standard Tronic 100watt heater here.  It has a nice thermal sensor so it will shut down if it fails.

LIGHTING:

JBJ Compact Lighting.  It has an output of 110 watts.  That gives you plenty of light for this size tank.  It has one actinic and one aquasun bulbs it it.

WATER PURIFIER:

It is called the Tap Water Filter.  Let me tell you, its great!  It rather cheap and you have no waist water.  Plus its really quick!  5 gal per half hour.

LIVE STUFF:

Well last but not least I have about 30 pounds of live rock, and about 35 pounds of live sand.  The sand bed is about 4 inches thick.
