TRUE STORIES

This is story about two lovable rabbits called "Buffy" and "Buffet". They are father and daughter. Buffy was our first rabbit who was a stray. Someone dropped him off near a friends house and was rescued by her. We found out about him and decided to adopt him as our family pet. Buffy was a very good natured rabbit. He was so layed-back and gentle. You could put him on your lap and he would not move. He especially enjoyed being held up close to your neck. He would always hop around the house touching everything with his chin (marking his territory). He was trained to use a litter box just like a cat, so we very seldom had to worry about "droppings" around the house. Buffy got up there in years and eventually got sick and passed away. We'll never forget him.

Buffet was a fairly larger rabbit then her father, Buffy. We bred Buffy with a black doe, (we called her Suzie). She wasn't a very friendly rabbit, but had beautiful bunnies. We decided to keep one out of her litter and called her "Buffet". She was also good natured somewhat like her father, but not as layed-back as Buffy was. They had their own cages because bunnies are known for "interbreeding" and we really did not want them to get together. But, one day we did and Buffet had bunnies, but she did not make a very good mother and they did not survive, so we made sure she did not breed again. After Buffy died, she knew he was gone and seemed to even react funny sometimes. One day we decided to get a new kitten. Rabbits don't always like cats. It depends on both of them. As the cat grew up, they seemed to become attached to each other day to day. Some days they would chase each other around in the garage. The kitten would lay by Buffet's cage from time-to-time. You would see the cat chasing the rabbit, then all of a sudden, the rabbit would be chasing the cat. It was really funny to watch. One day, Buffet got out of the garage and we did not realize it and had gone out to the highway and was killed on the road. We buried her along side Buffy. Now we just have the cat. His name is "Fart-Bart" He missed the bunny for quite some time. It was lonely in the garage without Buffet.
