Food
& treats
When
first going to
the pet store to
get rat food you
will find a variety
of "Rodent
Mixes" that
are suppose to
be good for all
small animals.
The only problem
with these types
of mixes is that
rats tend to
take only what
they like and leave
the rest. The
best type of
food to feed
your rat are
rodent block. These
blocks contain
all that rats
need for a balanced
diet. Another
type of food
that many
small pet stores
offer is a home
made mix with:
seeds, pellets, cat
food and so on.
I also don't recommend
these, for one reason
the rat will do
the same thing
as if it was a
Rodent Mix, and
these mixes also
don't offer a
healthy diet. If
you do decide to
feed your rat
such mixes as
these then you
should keep the
mix in your
freezer to keep
it from going
bad or getting
infested.

Treats
When
you first get a
rat, treats are
a good whey to
get the rat to
trust you . If
you can get the
rat to eat from
your hand then
that shows that
your rat has
trust in you.
There are many different
types of treats
to feed your rat
such as: nuts,
seeds, fruit, vegetables,
and cereal.
treats your rat
love most like cheese
is good for training
your rat to do treks.
But never feed
your rat some
thing that can heart
him ( refer to
the Food
to never feed
your rat
section).
