Man of shadows and mystery.
Towards the beginning of the series, Giovanni was always seen in the shadows. His face was always hidden away. As the series progressed, he came out into the open. Even saw him in his Speedo once. His hair and eyes are both dark brown. Haha...super scary.
He's the head of Team Rocket. His mother, Madame Boss was head before him and it was she who sent Jessie's mother on the mission that killed her or so we think...
Giovanni is also the gym leader of the Viridian City Gym and keeper of the Earth Badge. But when Ash battles for the Earth Badge, Giovanni leaves Jessie and James in charge of the gym because he had some unexpected business.
In the first Pokemon movie, 'Mewtwo Strikes Back', we learn that Giovanni is responsible for creating Mewtwo. He wanted to use its power to control the world but that back-fired on him.
There are rumors that Giovanni is Ash's father. Who knows for sure.
I happen to think he's married. In 'Battle of the Badge', he had a band on his ring finger. This doesn't necessarily mean that he's married, but then why all the attention on it? It would make a great twist in the future. Or maybe his wife died a while ago and he still wears the band to remember her by. That would make a great story, don't you think? The evil leader of an evil organization having a sensitive heart.
Giovanni's grown on me. At first, he was weird. But now I think he's pretty cool. Sure, he's not as witty as Team Rocket but he's got an evil coldness that's appealing. ^_^
There was also a time when Giovanni spoke with a bit of an English accent. It was strange and disappeared after awhile.
