Measure And Cut
Cut and Measure
An adult needs to cut the can or oatmeal container in half with the knife. Next, you will need to measure the diameter and height of the can half with the tape measure. Cut the wrapping paper 1" longer and 1 1/2" taller than the height of the container.
Glue Fabric
Glue Fabric
With the paintbrush, spread the glue on the container and press the wrapping paper around it. Leave 1/2" of the paper overhanging the bottom and 1" over the top.
Trim The Edge
Trim The Edge
Make small cuts along the top and bottom overhangs. Spread glue along the inside top and bottom edges of the container. Press the paper over the edges of the container.
Make The Handle
Make The Handle
Cut a strip of posterboard for the handle. Cut a piece of ribbon the same length as the posterboard and glue it on. Then glue the handle to the inside of the container and glue ribbon to the top edge of the container.
