Should satisfy young teens, but
offers nothing new for those who are familiar with the formula. While lacking
the zip and imagination of Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids movies, Cody Banks is
an amiable enough mixture of James Bond-lite adventure and chaste teenage
romance. In this generation of family-friendly secret agents, Cody Banks is
agreeably entertaining, better than the first Spy Kids, not as good as the
second and not nearly as clever as Cats & Dogs. Muniz must carry this movie
alone -- and he's equal to the task. Agent Cody Banks may be targeted at
teens, but even their grandparents might consider it fun.
