Noah Ben Shalek was a man of many facets . All contradictory.. He was a physical disaster. Short, old, rotund and ugly as sin.. Yet how he could build ships.. Not just any ships but Ben Shalek ships.. Non standard ships.. Wonderful ships... He was simply the best and the empire was about to recognise his skill.. High priest of Golgotha Prime .. The principle navy yard in the Golgotha spiral. This son of the Shalom system had come a long, long way... heheheh.. If only they could look into his soul.. If only they knew of the secession that boiled in Shalom.. If only they were aware of the part he had to play... The secret was well kept.. The Empire knew nothing.. It was coming.. It was close... When he returned they would be ready... The Empire would call it heresy... He would name it freedom!!!!
For just a moment he stood by the view port and glanced across the yards and in a split twinkling the fabric of reality split and a legend stomped into the spiral... There above Golgotha Prime fairies flew, dwarves hewed rocks, here be dragons and a myth drifted at its tether... The Emperors Reach!!. A dreadnought!!. The biggest warship in the Imperial Navy.
Noah Ben Shalek knew fear.. His heart stopped . His stomach filled with bile. His throat was gripped by the hand of terror.. Hard on the abyss of despair Noah stared at the mighty warship that filled the navies finest shipyard.. He had heard stories of this vessel.. Hell they were just that .. stories , legends , myths to frighten the rebellious.. That's what he had believed.. All beliefs were now on hold.. Out there was the mighty metal warlord... A ship so vast it filled the skies.. A ship so enormous it cast a shadow on Golgotha Prime... A ship so huge he had to swivel around to look from bow to stern.. He was impressed and he was afraid...
The legends were true.. Built in the pre-history of empire the Emperors Reach was one of five super dreadnoughts.. The flagships of the greatest navy the galaxy had ever known.. A mountain of weaponry. A giant of design.. Never copied. Never equalled . Never to be built again.. They said it could rival even the pirate planet killer of Abbadon.. Noah believed them. Worse, it was here..
Legend had it, that where the Empire was most threatened, then there the invincible warship was to be found.. Now it was here at Golgotha... They were doomed.. Silently Noah wept...
