    1. Teaching of chess
    2. Tournaments
    3. Exhibition (Promotional) Games

PHASE 1

    1. Proposed start 2000 September
    2. The programme will initially focus on secondary level students.

PROMOTIONAL IDEAS

    1. All teaching sessions will be under the auspices of the sponsor
    2. All tournaments will bear the name of the sponsor
    3. All exhibition games will be under the auspices of the sponsor
    4. All equipment will bear the sponsor's logo.

BENEFITS

    1. There is a certain level of prestige associated with chess, which sponsors can use to their advantage, and because there is essentially no other sport like chess, the sponsor can easily differentiate his product from others, using this uniqueness.
    2. Chess does not require much capital outlay for sponsorship of actual chess activities. Publicity costs will depend entirely on the sponsor.
    3. There are numerous types of chess activities which can be used in promotional activities, chief of which is the simultaneous exhibition which involves one player (usually a National Master (NM) or very high rated player) playing as many players as are willing to play him at the same time on different chess boards. Makes for a great media event.
    4. Technical expertise exists in Jamaica and is free of cost.
