About the Contents

Welcome.  This is a site about living with heart failure.  The goal is to help people understand about the disease and to learn how to live with it.

CHF is a serious condition that affects more than 5 million people.  In fact, it is more common in people age 65 and older and more common in African Americans.  Men have a higher rate of heart failure than women. Heart failure is the number one reason for people 65 and older to be admitted to the hospital.  Treatment of CHF costs greater than 21 billion dollars a year.
