My Daily Thoughts

I Did It!!!

Last Monday I completed something that I never thought would have happened.  I completed my Masters Degree.  An MBA in Technology Management to be exact from the University of Phoenix Online.  If any of you reading this have ever pondered the idea of returning to school for a degree whether undergrad, graduate, or beyond, I would have to highly recommend this program.  I know we have all heard reports and rumors down playing the education quality for online Universities.  It didn't help having online sites just selling people a diploma for a fee without any work.  This program however is fully accredited and legitimate along with many other schools that offer online programs now.  People may wonder how do you learn in such a format.  The answer is just like a classroom through discussions and interaction with classmates, plenty of reading assignments each week, and plenty of research papers to do.  It is real work and is something that you have to really motivate yourself to do before trying.  I received my Bachelors degree from DeVry University in a traditional classroom environment.  Comparing the two programs though, I think I gained just as much if not more from the Online program as opposed to the traditional classroom.  You have to earn your grade and the only way to do that is to actually participate and work.  You're not going to coast through the program and expect to graduate.  I also lost a lot of time with Amber and the kids while going to DeVry.  Phoenix allowed me to advance my education and get to spend more time with them.  It was a very rewarding experience and I'm just amazed that it is already done.  Now I'll get even more time with the family.  School is done, for now anyway.

London bombings

Last week, we saw the evil of Islamic terrorism show its ugly face again.  Four Al Qaeda SOBs decided to strap on bombs and blow themselves up in London subway tunnels and a London bus.  They killed over 50 innocent people and injured hundreds more in this cowardly attack perversely done in the name of Allah.  They sure learned how to highjack a religion and really distort the teachings and beliefs of their culture.  Britain however has not been deterred by this attack.  Prime Minister Tony Blair has reiterated the need to stay the course in this war against Islamic Terrorism.  Thankfully he has a backbone to stick with the US through this war unlike countries like Spain who skipped town after the Madrid bombings on 03/11/04.  Britain has been on the hunt for the ***holes behind this attack.  They discovered that the bombers were actually home grown Islamic fanatics.  A report this morning has said that a fifth coward who is believed to be one of the masterminds has been captured in Cairo, Egypt today.  That is really good news.

It hasn't taken the media long however to really try to politicize this issue as well, and I'm sure we'll have some of the left pushing the same thought soon.  On the way to work this morning, I heard an ABC news break on the radio.  The lady discussed the capture in Egypt and other news stories.  However, at the very end, she said that the one of the bombers was driven by his rage over the war in Iraq and that lead him to carry out the attack.  What in the hell are they trying to say now?  Is the idea now that it is the fault of the United States, Britain, and their allies that this bombing took place?  Are they also suggesting that had we not gone into Iraq, that this attack would not have occurred?  It doesn't take long for the political spin to happen does it?  These morons in the liberal media will just do anything to try to hurt the war effort in Iraq.  They keep trying and keep failing in their efforts.  No matter how much they try to convince you, this bombing was not done because of the war in Iraq.  It was done because these goons are people who have a twisted ideology and want to spread their version Islam around the world.  If the war in Iraq had not occurred, it is quite possible that this attack would have still occurred.  They would have another reason to carry out the same thing.  Thankfully Britain is going to stay the course with us through this.  Tony Blair has endured harsh criticism from this political opponents for his stance on the war.  It is good to have them there fighting with us.

That is my piece for today.  I will update with more information as I can.  Thanks for visiting my families site and taking the time to read My Daily Thoughts.
