Genesis 12:1 to 12:20

And Yahweh had said to Honored-Father, "Get out of your land, and from your family, and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you.
And I will make of you a great nation, and bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.
And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you; and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed."
And Honored-Father departed as Yahweh had said to him. And Lot went with him. And Honored-Father was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.
And Honored-Father took Princesse his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had acquired, and the slaves that they had obtained in Haran, and they went out to go into the land of Canaan; and in the land of Canaan they arrived.
And Honored-Father passed through the land to the place of Shechem, to the Sacred Terebinth Tree. And the Canaanites were then in the land.
And Yahweh appeared to Honored-Father, and said, "Unto your descendents I will give this land." And there he built an altar to Yahweh who had appeared to him.
And he removed thence towards the mountain on the east of House-of-God, and pitched his tent, having House-of-God toward the west, and The-Ruins toward the east; and there he built an altar to Yahweh, and called on Yahweh by name.
And Honored-Father moved onward, going on still toward the south.

And there was a famine in the land. And Honored-Father went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was severe in the land.
Later, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said to Princesse his wife, "Behold now, I know that you are a lovely woman.
At the time when the Egyptians see thee, they will say, She is his wife; and they will slay me, and save you alive.
Say, As I request, that you are my sister, that it things may go smoothly for me on your account, and I may survive because of you."
So later, when Honored-Father arrived in Egypt, that the Egyptians saw how lovely the woman was.
And the courtiers of Pharaoh saw her, and recommended her to Pharaoh; and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house as another wife.
And Abram profited well on her account; and he had sheep, and oxen, and he-asses, and men slaves, and women slaves, and she-asses, and camels.
And Yahweh plagued Pharaoh and his house with awesome plagues because of Princesse Honored-Father's wife.
And Pharaoh called Honored-Father, and said, "What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?
Why did you say, She is my sister, so that I took her as my wife. And now, behold, here is your wife: take her, and go away."
And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him, and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.
