"... and I can probably make it through eternity
(even without my mountains..smile)
if I can have a tree to climb."

"How Often Have I Thought"

C.J. Ingerson
2/25/99

Verse 1
********

What is heaven like
will it be a familiar sight
will there be a night
or will it always be light?

Verse 2
********

Will I see any trees
or hear the buzzing bees
will there be ships on seas
I'll bet there won't be any fleas?

Verse 3
********

Will there be my mountain high
will there even be a blue sky
will everyone be able to fly
will we even have the time to try?

Verse 4
********

Will I find my favorite flower
will I be able to wander by the hour
will there be any high tower
will there be a fight over power?

Verse 5
********

Oh these thoughts are fancy flight
of all the things that I might
see if I am obedient and right
and hold to the iron rod bright.

Verse 6
********

Oh what will heaven be like
will I still be able to ride a bike
or in my mountain take a hike
of climb my tree to see the sight?

Verse 7
********

Will I through eternity be able to make
a double chocolate or vanilla shake
I'll bet there won't even one snake
but it would be nice to still bread bake.

Verse 8
********

Some said this poem ended to soon
so I waited till the early afternoon
to add a couple verses like a tune
well before the rising of the moon.

Verse 9
********

But really quite seriously now
what will heaven be like somehow
I'd really like to point my ship's bow
into the correct course to now plow.

Verse 10
********

So if you know more will you tell me,
please don't be shy share what you see.
All I want to know is what will heaven be;
if I'll be able to climb my favorite tree?
