HE CAME TO SET THE CAPTIVES FREE!!

"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion-- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations. Aliens will shepherd your flocks; foreigners will work your fields and vineyards. And you will be called priests of the LORD, you will be named ministers of our God. You will feed on the wealth of nations, and in their riches you will boast. Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs."
{Isaiah 61:1-7 New International Version}

The Christian Connection / Ministry In Action Ministries is devoted to helping the people of God to arrive at the point where they are no longer held prisoner, are no longer in captivity, are no longer in bondage to their past or to their circumstances.

Satan will try to trap us and lure us away from God by making us think that we are not worthy of the Lord for any purpose. He'll try to make us feel as though we aren't deserving of God's love.

That is why God wants you to know today that Jesus Came To Set The Captives Free!!!!! If you are in bondage today in any form, I encourage you to read on!!

From our text scripture, we see that Isaiah spoke and prophesied about the Office of Christ and what role He would play in the believers lives. And then again in the book of Luke 4:18, we'll see where prophesy came to pass. Christ himself spoke the very words that were written in the book of Isaiah.

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,"

There's that word "captive" again.

Let's look at this word "captive:"

The Hebrew verbal adjective for this word means, "to be captured", which would mean that if a person had been captured, therefore he is a "captive".

Satan will try to keep us bound up and held in "captivity". He'll try to keep us oppressed and depressed, strung out and doped up, confused, deceived, uninformed and life-less. But instead of being a "captive", according to II Corinthians 10:5, we must cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bring into "captivity" every thought to the obedience of Christ. That means that any thought that is not of God, such as evil imaginations, wrong patterns of thinking, disbelief, confusion and spirits of its like, must be utterly cast down.

We must take on the mind of Christ and pray to the Father to bind our minds to the mind of Christ, that we would be mindful of only the things of God. For the word tells us that whatsoever we bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven. Likewise, we should keep our minds stayed on Jesus…"For thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee." {Isaiah 26:3}

Now the verb "captive" in the Hebrew means: "To be a prisoner of war", "to lead away captive", "to bring under control", or signifies, "to take men alive." All of these things, Satan will try to do unto men to destroy the very like of them. And in II Timothy 2:26, it is said of the power of Satan to lead men astray: "And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, which are taken captive by him at his will."

We must understand and we must know that Satan is a liar and everything that he ever told you about yourself is a lie! Despite your past or your present situation, you are the righteousness of God and the redeemed of the Lord! You were fearfully and wonderfully made in the likeness of God and in the image of Christ. Nothing can stop you or stand in your way of your pursuit for success. For God's word says, "You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you!" You are blessed in the city and in the field, blessed when you come and when you go. You are above only and not beneath, the head and not the tail and nothing by any means shall harm you!!!

I want you to talk to your situation or your state of bondage and tell Satan boldly:

Satan you are a defeated foe and I am a child of the King, an heir of the Kingdom and joint heirs with Christ. I was purchased by Love and therefore I am Love. I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that I should shew forth the praises of him who hath called me out of darkness into his marvelous light. Jesus died for me that I might have life and have it more abundantly. And having died he blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against me, which was contrary to me, and it took it out the way, nailing it to the cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly triumphing over them in it. I proclaim that I have the victory of all areas of my life and that I am no longer in captivity or in bondage to my past, my circumstances or my situations.

Remember children of God, JESUS IS ALIVE and Satan has no right to any of us.

We are free from bondage to the Devil, free from sickness, free from poverty, free from drug-addiction, free from alcoholism, free from sexual impurities. For who the Son sets free, is free indeed.

For Jesus already paid the price for us. He came down in the flesh, in the likeness of man for the atonement of our sins. He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities.

Therefore we can boldly say: JESUS CAME TO SET THE CAPTIVES FREE!!
