A Program for Young Language Learners
The Spanish Summer Camp 2003 is designed to address the educational needs
of raising 1st thru 5th graders' in regard to language instruction and cultural
understanding. The goals of the program are to create an awareness of the
complexity and the variety of cultures connected to a language and to provide
building blocks for future language and cultural education. Students are
immersed in the structure and sound of language through the use of phonics,
song and writing, as well as upbeat and exciting cultural activities. Staff
members include language educators with experience teaching students in this
age group and adult counselors with proficiency in a language. In the spirit
of summer camp tradition, students will also participate in structured,
recreational activities
Some Spanish Practices
- Salutations
- Traditional songs and children's rhymes
- Mealtimes: manners, drinks, dishes, and utensils
- Self Expression: needs and wants
- Plants, animals, and insects
- Games: sportsmanship, team communication
- Basic vocabulary: numbers, alphabets, days of the week, colors, family
members, and animals
Fees and Deposits
This is a two week camp and the cost for each one-week session is $200.00 for a full day and $150.00 for a
half a day. A minimum $30.00 deposit is required for each session.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Participants will receive a full tuition refund if notice of cancellation
is received at least two weeks prior to the start of the camp session.
Cancellations received after this date are subject to a $50.00 charge. There
will be no refunds for "no-shows."

The camps will be held at Brame Junior High School at 4800 Dawn Street,
Alexandria, La 71301.
