Earlier she was an Assistant Professor in the department of Computer Science at North Dakota State University where she was involved in a Data Mining project .
She completed her Ph.D in Computer Science from Indian Statistical Institute in February 1998.
Her teaching interests include Computer Networks, Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Image Processing, Database management System, Artificial Intelligence, Fuzzy logic, Neural Networks and Control theory.
She was working in GMD, German National
Research Centre for Information Technology where she
was involved in the
research projects on Image Processing, Handwritten character recognition and
mobile robots.

She also spent some time in University of Bern, Switzerland where she was involved in a security project and Max Planck Institute at Saarbruecken, Germany where she was involved in some theorem prover work.
She finished her PhD from Indian Statistical Institute,Kolkata in 1997
