Daniel Buie was born in 1797 in NC to Neil Buie and Dorothy Mercer Buie. Daniel married Mary Lemons. Daniel and Mary's children were Elizabeth, John, Neill Henry, Dorothy, Daniel, Jr., Zachariah, and Mary. Daniel died in 1862 and is buried in Franklin County, MS. According to the 1860 Copiah County Slave Schedule, he owned 76 slaves near Caseyville, MS.
