AIMS and OBJECTIVES

BE A PART OF YOUR OWN SUCCESSFUL FILM INDUSTRY RIGHT HERE ON YOUR DOORSTEP.

As we know, film making is a collaborative art form/industry, which requires many skilled and talented people, financial resources and a facilities infrastructure.

It was with this in mind that The KZN Film Initiative was formed so as to provide those who wish to see their creativity, dreams and projects realised; the opportunity to collaborate with one another.

THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  1. To promote the development of a local motion picture industry in the province of Kwa Zulu Natal
  2. By gathering together those who demonstrate an interest in this endeavour, such as producers, directors, scriptwriters, film crew, actors, students and especially those wishing to develop their own short and/or feature films.
  3. The Initiative shall begin by providing training and hands on experience to interested members through the production of various short films and music videos (shot on film).
  4. Initiative members shall, wherever possible, freely assist one another in the production of each other's projects. It is thereby hoped that this in turn will stimulate career and business opportunities as well as lay the foundations of a film production infrastructure in Kwa Zulu Natal.
  5. The Initiative shall carry out preservation work on its extensive library of rare feature film prints and exhibit these when ever possible, thereby preserving for future generations the rich film making heritage of KZN and South Africa.
  6. Willing members may assist in fund raising projects and in the seeking of sponsorship from provincial government, city councils and members of the private sector to achieve the Initiatives objectives.

You now have crew and film equipment at your disposal. Set your imagination free.
