It's the weekend again! yey! This week has been full of indulgence, I can't help it, I'm always tempted. It's been really cold and Ive been really lazy doing things in the last minute. I am excited about making the pages but I dont have the book, excuses, lol I really want to make it really nice and not take shortcuts, try and make it realy professional looking or something close to it. It should be fun but I really want the html book and looking through pages on the web will take ages since I am online i get distracted and I wanna do them offline plus it doesnt hold up the phone. Look what we have here, a poem by me.

"painting blue"

i painted something amazing yesterday
it was hues of blue, the sky was nearly clear
how proud it hanged on the wall
something i hold very dear

i wanted to show others who'd appreciate
the art, the sky, the blue, what i painted
surprised, they didnt want, they didnt like
the ocean is what they wanted and expected

its blue, not an ocean, but the sky
still i kept it on, hues of blue framed on the wall
but painted more of clouds, fields and valleys
they came back, now asking for leaves in fall

maybe one day i will paint the ocean deep
and leaves of fall, with hues green and yellow
just like the blue painting of the near clear sky
but for now, i'll paint mountains in winter mellow

My friend Beenz got a job, she is now a Junior web developer!!!! that is so excellent! im soo happy for her and cant help to be a bit jealous! lol. thats really great!!!! what a cool job!

Here are the NOTES with the guy i talked to about "IT job / career advice" !!! what i forgot to add but everyone should know it is.........ask around ... friends, familty for job openings.. its called connections... but everyone should know that so i didnt bother sending it again.... i mean if there are opening....... friends and family know you are looking and will mention it to you, so its all cool.

Hey! Here are the "notes" I made while I spoke to an IT guy on the phone for "job/career advice"

>> Be determined and go for interviews, worth a try and see (ive learnt my lesson)
>> Be persistent, email and call to see if your still in their list, show them you are interested.

>> Try and find away to get into the field you've graduated, that's first step.
It doesnt matter what it is as long as its I.T (for us IT graduates). Get your feet inside the door!

>> You are fresh and you need experiece. eg. even if u do help desk for 1-2-3 years... with that experience you may have enough knowlege and experience to apply for system administration next or whatever...especially that u have prior knowledge ie degree/diploma/certifcate

>> Jobs other than computers/IT 'usually' dont help you since they want someone with experience in the chosen field ie. for us IT.

>> Ba Comp Sci is a broad study and you learn fundamentals, you need to find at least 3 specific field.
Know what field you want.....design /analysis/ program/ database/ network/ hardware/ software / etc? ... know what u want to work towards to!.

>> In your resume (1-2 pages only....max is 3..it should only intice them so u get an interveiw...dont write your life story) in it plsu
+++ Try and have 3 different skills - Expertise.

>> If you have no expertise.........
You can do tafe cources that last only a few weeks to gain certificates to add to your resume, this too is specific expertise, you can learn a program (photoshopt, flash,) or way of analyis/knowledge (network, business, database) or design (helps you make port folio), programming language that u want to concentrate (java, c/++, pearl ) or things such as sql, javasript, html etc.

>> There are courses / schools such as; (some are hard..... some are easy.....)
*A+ deals with hardware
*MCP - microsoft certificare prog
*MCSC
*XCOM
*Drake training
*NETPRP solotions - 9791 - 5871
!!! the bonus thing about these is that they help you look for a job after you do their course.....

>> Stay in your field and increase your;
*Experience by sticking to IT jobs and,
*Expertice by doing little courses to learn new things and update knowledge....
(some can take 1 year, others a couple of months, even a week, some are couple of days.. depending on your time ft/pt and knowledge you want to learn)

>> Search jobs online coz they are linked to agencies already....
*Seek.com.au
*Mycarrer.com.au
*Monster.com.au
*Careerone.com.au
*Hays.com.au
*Jobnet.com.au
*Jobsearch.gov.au

make sure you get on their mailing list for job updates or visit their page for them, you can make a resume on their page but you can laso just upload your MS Word copy to be sent to the one you apply for.

>> Newspapers
The Australian - tuesday editions - IT section - Only IT jobs are advertised..... ask newsagents for other specific IT job newspaper.

>> Agencies... there are a lot and its up to you to track them down... and go to their office..

Hope that helps. Take care and Good luck !!!

cya,
Arvin

Yesteday I was felling crap, the questions kept on coming and there is really nothing much I could do. After checking my daily job email which didnt help my doubts, I started to complain here about my job situation and then my dad called asking me to call this IT guy from his work so while i was looking for the mobile charger i accidently pulled the plug and all the crap was gone, i just didnt bother and turned it off. I callled the guy but coudnt get through, i was pissed about "why do i have to call this guy? what could he possibly say to me, why are my parents pushing me" little did I know that i was gonna be wrong.

After the 5th call i got through but told me he will call me back, after 2 hours he did. We talked about job propects, plans, choices, what he has been through and what i should do. I must say after that I felt so much better, increasing my confidence. I realized that my parents (some family/friends too) just wanted me to be out there and more focused, they are not on my back 24/7 but they try to do their bit coz if not i'd be still sitting on my arse. lol. That guy, Aniket (sp?), was very helpful, I'll type up what he told so u know.

I have finished reading the book last night. My emotions ran wild, I couldnt help it, I was so impressed wth the skill of the writer and the story was just amazing!!!!!!!!! Here are 3 reviews that I thought described the book I wish I could have;

Praise for Kushiel's Dart

"Kushiel's Dart takes fantasy into shadowy exotic corners it rarely dares to tread. The standard of the writing is so high, it's hard to believe this is a first novel. There are some genuinely shocking moments, but even the darkest of them are written with skillful elegance. The characters are captivating and the plot cleverly convoluted. I read many new writers, but few of them capture my attention as Jacqueline Carey has. A writer to watch -- as the cliché goes -- but more importantly a writer to read." -- Storm Constantine, author of Sea Dragon Heir (Author Quotes)

“Kushiel’s Dart has been written with the intrigue of Shakespeare’s plays of palace politics, the cold, unerring truth of Machiavelli, the epic grandeur of Homer and the well spun fabric of fantasy I’ve not seen woven so artfully since I first turned the pages of Tolkien.”-- the Paper, West Michigan's Independent News Source (Reviews)

"Kushiel's Dart is a lush tapestry of language, complex courtly and political intrigue, mythology, history, medieval travelogue and sensual pleasures. Written on an awe-inspiring scale, its labyrinthine plot grows to encompass nearly all of an ancient Europe which has never quite been experienced like this before. And yet as grand as the scope of this tale is, I never lost sight of the humanity of our heroine as she struggles to prevail against inhuman odds. While I was overwhelmed by her circumstances, Phèdre nó Delaunay simply pushed on. Jacqueline Carey's talent in weaving a story is stunning; her colorful, lavish prose skillfully beguiles and leads her reader down any path she chooses. You will laugh, cry, become inflamed and angry, and will no doubt squirm in your seat on more than one occasion, but the one thing you won't do is stop reading." -- Kris, WA (Advance Reader Quotes)

from this link...

It was an adventure with an edge! beautiful, intelligent, elegant. These are the three book covers, I am so excited to read the 2nd one!

Since I'm Feb 11 = Analysis Of An Aquarius...You are the Eleventh sign of the Zodiac.Your element is Air.Your ruling planet is Saturn.Your characteristics are personified by the image of a Water Bearer.

You are unusual by the usual standards of normality.Things that normally interest you are not the ones that interest others. For you, the benefit of humanity is an object of deep thought and concern. You may have hundreds of important assignments and yet when there is a genuine cause, you will leave everything to address that issue.Your emotions are far-reaching and hardly ever selfish. You have an open mind, unbiased and ready to accept a new idea if the old one is at fault. You have humility and do not like people who are selfish or egoists. You are gentle and your heart cries for the unfortunate and needy.Your belief in truth is profound and you may go to great lengths to reveal the truth.Money and power does not have much value unless it can put to good use, namely the benefit of humankind. Truth and knowledge are more important for you than wealth. When you meet someone who is like-minded you can easily make a friend and your romantic alliances often stem from friendship.Love to you is to be shared with the entire world, and a partner who does not share your thoughts, cannot hold your interest for long.

she's aquarius too... that's where i got it... only aquarius analysis.

And here is a nice poem....

Wind and Window Flower

Lovers, forget your love,
And list to the love of these,
She a window flower,
And he a winter breeze.

When the frosty window veil
Was melted down at noon,
And the caged yellow bird
Hung over her in tune,

He marked her through the pane,
He could not help but mark,
And only passed her by
To come again at dark.

He was a winter wind,
Concerned with ice and snow,
Dead weeds and unmated birds,
And little of love could know.

But he sighed upon the sill,
He gave the sash a shake,
As witness all within
Who lay that night awake.

Perchance he half prevailed
To win her for the flight
From the firelit looking-glass
And warm stove-window light.

But the flower leaned aside
And thought of naught to say,
And morning found the breeze
A hundred miles away.

- Robert Frost

He is a great poet, we studied him in high school, oh memories.

When i get a job I am definetely going to miss staying up and sleeping in especially during winter, like right now. I was inspired to changed Usfriends when Meb surprisingly changed Unifriends again. I like having a new look and feel, thats why i often change my page layout/design or even just a picture.

Here's a thought...

Some people may see her to be really nice,
Another will think that she is just a complete fake.
He can be seen as a very gullible person,
While another will feel that he is too trusting.
That girl will be thought off as an honest imdividual,
But someone will call her a complete bitch.
Some people will see him to be very mean,
Although others will find him pretty funny.

That's just a little something I was thinking about. My net speed was really slow and now it is super fast so I might just surf some more. lol The quote in the corner says "Enjoy life. There's plenty of time to be dead. -- Anonymous "

decisions decisisons... mmm... pulboron or cookies AndICE cream? i'll save it for tomorrow.

I couldn't find a picture that I liked then I remembered Raquel had a picture she used for an old layout when she was on a break/hiatus that could work, so i looked through saved webapges and found it, hope she doesnt mind me using it, i really like it! thnx!

I am back to very simple white with little colour and picture (very similar to my old ones) and should stay like this for a while until i have another urge to change, lol hopefully not soon. Dont you just like the yummy brown dounut and the hot sweet chocolate *imagine* in the styrofoam (sp?) cup?!

Ready and Take it easy, is about being Ready all the time coz u never know what will happen. You may ask how can u be ready when u dont know what will happen? I say, you know when you're ready. Also, Take it easy, dont stress too much... "All i wanna do is have some fun, I've got a feeling im not the only one" - Sheryl Crow.

Here is something i found to read about online journaling...but for now... to be continued...

im bored... im gonna get off the net, im not sleepy yet so might as well finish the book.... but i dont wanna finish it... its soo good! oh yeah i forgot there are 2 others....yey... ok depends whats on the tele.

i saw this page and she is a web designer! this person too! i wanna do this! my wish!

and i found this quote. "A bit of fragrance always clings to the hand that gives the rose." - Chinese proverb from here i like... i get!.. do you?

plus more from the same place....
"Try to learn something about everything and everything about something." - T.H. Huxley
"To know how to hide one's ability is great skill." - Francois de La Rochefoucauld

this a great blog idea... i need an idea...lol

did u know web logs used to be (and or still is) like these links with personal notes, i think...ie

Weblogs, typically, are personal Web sites operated by individuals who compile chronological lists of links to stuff that interests them, interspersed with information, editorializing and personal asides. A good weblog is updated often, in a kind of real-time improvisation, with pointers to interesting events, pages, stories and happenings elsewhere on the Web. New stuff piles on top of the page; older stuff sinks to the bottom. Salon

ok gonna go. enjoy! bye.

jos said something about "we live for love". thats true, she explained it really well. not just about partnership love, but also friendship and family and ur job and hobbies and ur pets and ur things.

i guess right now i am in this state of mind where i need to love my job. maybe its not time yet, more effort is required for that to come along.

and she said that.... maybe we are still in uni holiday mode where we're just waiting for the holidays to finish and start uni again. i wish. i thought about that a couple of days ago and though, only if i was lucky. i really miss uni... but i cant excape the reality that i need employment soon, hopefully something i love and on that note im gonna check my job mail. later.

1 job confirmation = thats a jod start, they have my resume. *prays* please hire me!
read 5 emails = around 20 jobs all together
applied to = 0, nada, zilch, zero, wala
learnt that = junior means u already have at least 1-3 years experience...lol... some people are just expecting too much... dont they teach you a bit...

ok might start the new layout... no i'll do it on Monday, gonna surf...

>> Mandy Moore- Only Hope
>> Evanescense - My Immortal
>> Saliva - Always
>> Unique II - Break My Stride
>> Foo Fighters - Times Like These
>> Lillix - It's About Time
>> Good Charlotte - The Anthem
>> Amiel - Lovesong
>> Remy Zero - Save Me
>> Avril Lavigne - I Dont Give a Damn

i dont know, maybe the page is a bit distracting from the writing... maybe i didnt design it properly... maybe its just me wanting white and simple again... as much as i like this and its as simple as you get, its gonna be changed as fast as it was made.

i bought the herald newspaper today and i found only a couple there that i wanted and maybe could try and apply to, as i am looking for an IT job which is in a slump right now, i heard. there wasnt many at all, not even a handful, and if there were i lack experience to submit my resume. i think i should have done accounting or marketing/consultant or something in business bcoz there are a few to choose from. oh well im back searching online, i might try the paper again though... 1. coz it looks like im really looking for a job by looking through it with a highlighter/pen and a note pad. 2. maybe IT is bad this week.. lalala dust yourself off and try again....

local paper, u ask? i've tried that too and not many at all, a lot less than the metro... ooo... i sound like i am making an effort... well i try to make an effort... what else can i do? suggestions?

im still happy though :) lol

resident evil was gruesome yet satisfying, i wanna see resident evil 2. is there such thing? it should be good to continue the saga. im just gonna save some pages offline then im going to read a chapter of the book then im off to bed. good night and have a great weekend!

i was gonna write a happy poem but i have to go so i quickly found this instead. enjoy!

TO WRITE A HAPPY POEM

I will write a happy poem tonight.
A poem of joy, a poem of delight,
Filled with all the many things,
The things that happiness brings.

A happy poem should be fast in time,
Lightly wrote, strong in rhyme.
I'll speak of love and gay events,
strewn flowers, no regrets.

In a longer meter, to slow it down,
I will tell of future joy, love well met,
I will tell of longings found,
Children, wives, even pets.

No where else may you find such insight,
Attention paid to every kiss,
Every smile, rapture and bliss.
Such a poem I'll write tonight.

Or so I wish.

by Marc Mosko, 1996

it'll do, its happy enough. ok later *smiles* be merry!
