What exactly is GEM? |
God's Extreme Ministry.
GEM. GEM is an awesome Youth Group! Period. Great things are
beginning to happen, as well as great things are going to take place. Some
would say GEM is just the "youth group" of Christ Cathedral, but we in
GEM like to think of it as it's own ministry. Outreach even. GEM
does many fun things throughout the year, including: trips to the lake,
winter/summer camps, youth conventions, party/get togethers, hockey games,
lock-ins, live local concerts, and much more. Youth in GEM would agree it
is fun. More so then fun, it is uplifting. GEM is a place where
teens can go and give their problems of the past or present week to God, and
receive the comfort they are searching for. GEM asks one thing, God be
glorified by all it's doings. Simply that.
| What GEM offers |
GEM has come to offer many things to it's youth. Whether it be encouragement to seek God, directions through the Bible on how to live in today's world, or just a little bit of plain out love. GEM has also come to offer some programs/groups for the youth. One is Remnant. Remnant is a special meeting aside from the regular Sunday and Wednesday meetings of GEM. Remnant is for those who are yearning for a deeper walk with God, and who are committed to certain area's of maintenance to make sure GEM is running smoothly. Things in the process of starting up are in GEM are: a drama/dance team, an "inner-city" ministry, and a greeting/welcoming team.

Audience of One |
Audience of One. Simple.
Audience of One is the name of GEM's youth band. The band regularly begins
the GEM service every Sunday evening. The band, including the band members
are committed to perform for an audience of one; God. They are not looking
for stardom or fame, but they are simply there to worship God, and lead us at
the same time. That right there is a ministry in itself. Thanks
band! There are currently two guitars, one bass, one drums, and a total of
5 singers. Yeah, it is kind of a big group, but man they are getting
better and better every practice.
