In an honor to the hero of
the hometown the fans of his city started something which was known
as Derek Anderson Foundation. The job of these fans was get together
was to basically organize and revitalize youth programs and
improving the future for young people and others who had been the
driving force behind one of Kentucky's most promising community
outreach programs, a program that has been recognized for
outstanding service by government officials in both Kentucky and
California. All this was obtained through the popular and effective
ASSIST programs, the working of the Foundation is divided and its
work is equally distributed across three important segments -
Community, Youth and The Future. The Community Assist Program works
closely with various local, regional and national organizations to
support youth initiatives and improvement projects. Derek Anderson
himself is a major contributor to these programs and plays an active
role in the different programs, ranging from planning activities to
personally acting as guider and a helping hand to the participants. |
