The National Theatre (as seen from the Hudson's hole). Opened on September 16, 1911, in the Monroe theater district, the National started out as a vaudeville house, switching to movies early in its life. The Water Board Building can be seen in the background.
In later years, the National operated as a burlesque house until switching to adult films in the early 1970s under the name of the Palace.
A LARGE close up of some of the detailing. The Palace closed in 1975. Thanx to cinematour.com for the info! Click the pic for a LARGE view.
