After Winsted the line must have hugged the other side of the river for a while, at some point running into the Mad River Dam. We will search for it west of Winsted eventually, but there's a very good chance that a lot of it was destroyed in the flood of 1955. Near Colebrook, the line is once again near Rt. 44, and a flood-damaged section of roadbed and a completely intact bridge can be seen:

Note that although the solid concrete arch and the deck are intact, along with the western side's roadbed, the entire eastern part has been swept away! We think this is '55 flood damage. The builders plaque on this bridge (in the same style as that in Collinsville) says 1917, and the places where the masons propped boards up to make the arch are clearly distinguishable.
