The Center

The Great Lakes Center is an organization located on the campus of Buffalo State.  This organization offers classes to undergraduate and graduate students alike.  The focus of the classes are to educate people about the effects of the lakes on the Western New York region.

Another location for the center is the field station located on the shoreline of Lake Eire.  There the quality of the water as well as the chemistry and toxicology are studied.  At this station, the staff uses the Boston whaler boats and the boom system to get samples of the lakes and to lower different reactants to improve the effects of water on land and the aquatic life.

The director of the center is Dr. Gordon Fraser, who is a professor at Buffalo State.  The contact person for the project is Captain Allan Fairbanks, who responsible for giving all the correct information to the design team and make sure the team designs exactly what the center needs.
