The UCSF School of Medicine does not require a bachelor's degree but one is strongly recommended.  You should complete all coursework at an accredited institution.  At least three years or 90 semester hours are required for admission.  The 90 semester hours must include:

  • Eight Semester Hours of Inorganic Chemistry (with one year of lab)

  • Six Semester Hours of Organic Chemistry

  • Eight Semester Hours Quarter Units of Physics (with one year of lab)

  • Eight to Ten Semester Hours of Biology (with one year of lab) including a course in vertebrate zoology

Vertebrate embryology, genetics, cell physiology, or comparative vertebrate anatomy (all with lab) can be used to satisfy the vertebrate zoology requirement.
