For the most part a bachelor's degree is required for admission into the UCLA School of Medicine but in some cases students who have completed three full academic years at an accredited College or University might be accepted.  During your undergraduate years you should gain as broad an education as possible.


The following are the minimum course requirements for acceptance into the UCLA School of Medicine:


  • One Year of Inorganic Chemistry (with lab)

  • One Year of Organic Chemistry and Quantitative Analysis (with lab)

  • One Year of Biology (with lab)

  • One Year of Physics (with lab)

  • One Year of College Mathematics  (include introductory calculus and statistics)

  • One Year of College English (include English Composition)

A course in Spanish and Humanities, and computer skills are all highly recommended.  The MCAT is also required for admission into the UCLA School of Medicine.
