The Medical School Report Emory University * Overall Score: 70 Acceptance Rate: 7.40% Average Undergrad GPA: 3.73 Average MCAT Scores: 10.7 Emory University enrolls 110 to 112 new students into its first-year class each year. Half of these students are residents of Georgia with some preference to students from the southeastern states; however qualified applicants from all over the country are given serious consideration. Application requires at least three years of balanced undergraduate education including 90 hours (or 135 quarter hours) in the arts and sciences from an accredited U.S. or Canadian institute. Biochemistry and Genetics are courses that are highly recommended. Academic GPA should be above average (average GPA is 3.73). The MCAT is a requirement for admission into the Emory School of Medicine. There is no specific cutoff point for both academic GPA and the MCAT.
