Hello my name is T.J. I'm 26 and I am trying to get back into the hobby of collecting sports autographs, this time through the mail (TTM) for football, baseball and basketball. And also In Person for baseball.

10/25/09 I wish I could see more famous former and current Japanese players and get their autographs. I live on the West Coast so for spring training I could possibly look for people who are there to see Ichiro and Fukudome. In 2002 there was an older Japanese man in a white jumpsuit (which I read somewhere later it was a way of dressing like a gangster; that was just the way he dressed) who looked important so my friend and I walked over to him and we found out from the man next to him that he was a famous manager in Japan. It turned out to be Akira Ohgi, former Nishitetsu Lions Champion second baseman that managed Hideo Nomo and Ichiro, helping them be famous.
When I went to Hideki Irabu's games in Long Beach and in Orange County I was able to get Shigetoshi Hasegawa at one game and Meikyukai (1 of 2 Japanese Baseball HOFs) member Kenichi Yazawa at another. Both are television broadcasters in Japan.
I saw someone has a ticket stub signed by Sachio Kinugasa on his website and that is awesome. Must have been an Orioles game to honor Ripken or something. Cool autograph to have.
1958 Japanese MVP Wally Yonamine signs and sent me a signed photo from his home address. When he left the Giants he had the highest lifetime batting average ever in Japanese baseball history. The only American ever to win the Sawamura award, Gene Bacque, has his address online and he sends a signed baseball card from home. Alonzo Powell, who won the batting title 3 consecutive years in the Central League, signed a card for me from the team he coaches address. Daryl Spencer and George Altman signed from their home addresses and Rick Lancellotti signed from his baseball school. There are many former great suketto (foreign helpers).

Simpson autograph that was perfectly signed and not sloppy at all right on the white of his 1972 topps card. i wrote to him a week after he was arrested this last time so it had some special meaning to me. really sad people were stealing from him too and getting away with it.

and Meikyukai member Kenichi Yazawa on my ticket. According to Rob's Japanese Baseball Cards he played from 1970 to 1986 with the Central League's Chunichi Dragons and helped them win two pennants, the rookie of the year award, and a batting title in 1976 and 1980. The first baseman was also selected to 3 Best Nine teams. He finished his career after the 1986 season with 2062 hits making him a member of the exclusive Meikyukai club, 1 of 2 Japanese baseball Hall of Fames. Another site (Yakult Swallows Home Plate) says this:
"One of the best Japanese batters of all time, Kenichi Yazawa is one of only fifteen players to finish their career above the .300 plateau. Hitting .302 exclusively with the Dragons (1970-86), the left-handed first-baseman won two batting crowns, with a .355 average in 1976 and .369 in 1980. In his seventeen year career, Yazawa also stroked 273 home runs with 2,062 hits, 348 doubles and 969 RBIs."
