Turning to clients, we ask them to practice mindfulness on their symptoms, their e-motions and on other responses to the environment. We encourage them to be aware of the way the body is responding to a situation and to learn to 'read' those responses. Our job is to assist them to raise their awareness of the part that symptoms and e-motions play in their lives and, reciprocally, how the life they lead makes it inevitable that the body will need to generate symptoms and e-motions. Our goal in Mickel Therapy is not to try and lead clients to a utopia of no negative e-motions but rather replace symptoms with the full e-motions awareness. This is easier to do with practice of mindfulness.
