Leechburg is fortunate to be represented by dedicated and progressive representatives in Washington and Harrisburg who are always there for our community.

Mayor Pascal has worked closely with each of them to bring grant funds to the Borough for various projects

For example, Congressman Murtha has provided $30,000 to purchase equipment for the police department since Chuck Pascal became Mayor, and since Mike Diebold became Chief of Police. The equipment purchased through the grants, from computers to cameras, tasers, "stop strips," office furniture, and other items, have been instrumental in modernizing the operation of the police department.

Senator Ferlo has provided $10,000 in funding for construction of the new basketball court adjacent to the football field. Senator Ferlo is also instrumental in providing funding for planning the initial stages of a major downtown redevelopment project; a grant of $100,000 to the Freeport Leechburg Apollo Group, Inc. (FLAG), a joint project of the three boroughs, has resulted in progress toward accomplishment of this effort. Senator Ferlo has also been instrumental in developing relationships with other organizations and corporations which will be crucial to success of this effort.

Representative Petrarca has provided funding for a new fire siren, as well as for other projects.

We would also like to thank Governor Ed Rendell, who, after a visit to Leechburg during his re-election campaign, provided $26,000 in funding for the Campbell Avenue playground project. Thank you, Governor, for responding to the mayor's request for help!!

Our elected representatives at the state and federal levels are always willing to help the people of Leechburg with your concerns or problems with government. Feel free to contact them.
