Paul Walker News

***NEWS AS OF JANUARY/07/01

Paul is featured in this month's issue of You Magazine

***NEWS AS OF DECEMBER/21/00***

It's official Racer X/Street Wars/Redline's title has officially been changed to The Fast and The Furious. I got the real synopsis of the movie from The Official Site:
Vin Diesel (Pitch Black) and Paul Walker (The Skulls) star in the action-adventure film The Fast and The Furious a fierce and frenzied look at rival Los Angeles street teams who use street racing as a means of establishing power. The film co-stars Jordana Brewster (The Faculty), Rick Yune (Snow Falling On Cedars) and Michelle Rodriquez (Girlfight). Walker stars as a rookie cop who goes undercover, posing as a racing team member, in order to investigate truck hijackings. Managing to ingratiate himself with the team's leaders at first, he finds himself in jeopardy when the other members begin to suspect an imposter within their ranks, setting the stage for an exciting climactic showdown. Directed by Rob Cohen (The Skulls) and produced by Neal H. Moritz (Cruel Intentions), The Fast and The Furious will feature the sleek and powerful designs of the modified vehicles along with the heart-pounding adrenaline rush of the most amazing racing action ever seen on screen.

Well, I went and saw Dude, Where's My Car yesterday and whaddaya know, but their was a preview for Paul's upcoming movie Redline/Racer X. The title has been changed from Redline to Street Wars, but some our saying the title is being changed to 'The Fast and The Furious', so look for both titles.. It will be released March 23, 2001. It's also starring Vin Diesel (Pitch Black) and Jordana Brewster (The Faculty.
Also, Squelch has been set to come out on March 9, 2001 in the USA.

***NEWS AS OF SEPTEMBER/21/00***

The Skulls will be coming to video on October 3, 2000 and the release date for Squelch has been pushed back to early 2001.
Also, Paul lost the choice male hottie award at the Teen Choice Awards, so next year we have to vote much more!!!
Also here is a synopsis of Squelch from IMDB.com- ": A college student (Walker) drives to New Jersey from Colorado with his older, prank-playing brother (Zahn) to pick up the girl he has a thing for (Sobieski) from her college. However, on the way, a prank played on a trucker the two brothers meet during a CB radio conversation turns dark when they discover he's a psycho killer and he's out to get them... "
One last thing, I also got a synopsis of Redline (aka Racer X) from upcomingmovies.com- "This movie is about street youth gangs in Los Angeles that adapt sports cars into weapons that they race illegally. Two different subplots have been revealed by different sources. One is that there is a Romeo and Juliet story about lovers from different gangs (Cinescape), and the other is that police detectives go undercover to investigate a possible highjacking ring (IMDb). A firmer summary of the premise should be announced soon. (Rodriguez plays a gang member; if an anonymous source is correct, Rodriguez may be the "Juliet" of the romantic angle; with her brother being the leader of one of the racing gangs, and her new boyfriend being one of the undercover cops)"

***NEWS AS OF AUGUST/09/00***

Be sure to watch the Teen Choice Awards on Fox August 22. Paul is nominated for choice male hottie and he's also a presenter.

***NEWS AS OF MAY/29/00***

Paul is featured in Interview and Teen People Magazines this month, but we have some bad news; Paul did not recieve his coveted role of teenage Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode 2. The role has gone to 19 year old Hayden Christenson.

***NEWS AS OF MARCH/06/00***

Paul is featured in the March 2000 Issues of Seventeen, Cosmogirl (Christina Aguliera is on the cover), & US Magazines.

***NEWS AS OF FEBRUARY/13/00***

The release date for The Skulls has been pushed back until March 31! It's already getting rave reviews...
Will Paul be cast as Teenage Anakin Skywalker in Episode 2(star wars)? Read this article from TheForce.net about Paul winging the audition.

The Boy Who Would Be Vader

Tue, Feb 08, 00 07:28:24 PM EST
Everytime I read another article on the guy who is 'supposedly' going to play Anakin, I groan inwardly: "I've got a bad feeling about this ..."

Maybe this time something's different, maybe this one's for real. Or maybe not. But, here's another guy to be thrown into the ring for the Dark Lord. He has been to the Ranch, he has read for Anakin. He is one of the most popular for the part. That much we know for sure. The rest ... is ... well ...

Does the name Paul Walker mean anything to you? It didn't either to me until this afternoon.

He's not quite an unknown, but close. He a guy who's long been playing second fiddle to the big boys like James Van Der Biek in Varsity Blues and Feddy Prinze, Jr. in She's All That. Paul Walker very well could be the boy who would be king. Or perhaps the man who would be Vader, would describe it more appropriately.

First, let's back up a bit and find out what we can from his bio page on IMDB:

Paul Walker was born in raised in Southern California. He started his career as a child, doing modeling and acting. After graduating from high school, he decided to study acting. He is currently starring in "Two Girls" with Claire Danes. Paul Walker enjoys surfing, snowboarding, skiing, snorkeling, sailboarding, sailing, shooting, and soccer.

So it looks like Leonardo DeCaprio or anyone else doesn't hold the Anakin spot for Episode II afterall. Paul Walker is slated as Lucas's "number one choice" right now for the role, according to sources. Although it's not like we should talk about it as a done deal, since there's still nothing signed on the dotted line. Just over this past weekend, the hopeful visited the Ranch up north to meet with Lucas, who was pleased with his reading for the part. So pleased the rumor is that he will be Anakin in the next installment.

The problem? Paul Walker has another movie lined up for the same time as shooting on Episode II would commence, so he's not sure how the scheduling would work. But that's no problem, according to Lucas insiders, since they are confident they can work something out.
