One
banjo, one fat acoustic bass and three vocals in close,
Appalachia
laced harmony: that's the essential Tumbleweed. On a stage
as
on their new CD Weedgarden,
the eye and ear are drawn first to the two sisters,
Cathy-Anne
on vocals and Trisha
on bass and vocals.Third vocalist,
Chris
is the banjo/guitar player, picking and rolling his infectious rhythms
over
everything from a gospel classic to an aching, original tune to something
Kentucky
and traditional to a sweetly arranged Beatles' chestnut.
Some
amazing talented friends join in when they can and are always part
of
the extended family but the essence always remains:
One
banjo, one fat acoustic bass and three vocals in close,
Appalachia
laced harmony. That's Tumbleweed..
