Sandwich 'Cake'

    * * *
    1 round loaf of bread
    a variety of fillings (3 or 4)
    real butter
     

       Slice the loaf horizontally into three or four  or 5 layers, making sure you can
    put the slices back in the same order, if you have sliced them unevenly.
     Spread with butter. Mix up 3 or 4 of  your favorite fillings.  (make sure the
    fillings are of a compatible flavor).  For example, egg salad, ham, shrimp,
    chicken or cheese.  Spread a generous amount of filling between the
    layers and restack.  Long wooden skewers or toothpicks will
    help hold the loaf in place while it is chilling.  Cover and chill
    for at least hours.

    To serve, place on a cake stand, garnish with parsley etc.
    To serve, cut into wedges (just like a cake) with a serrated bread knife.
