Special Powers & Magic

You can choose your own power, but remember that your character can only have one or two powers. There are two exceptions to this. Mistoffelees and Macavity may have more than two abilities. Please limit the number of cats you register for that are magical. We don't want to have too many cats who are magical. (We reserve the right to limit or negate magical powers at any time for any character.)

You can only have one power from each catagory except Divination. (i.e~ you cannot have Ice Ray {offesive catagory} and Light Beam {offensive catagory}. But you can have telepathy {divination catagory} and Empathy {divination catagory}) Please be aware that some of the powers have other restrictions on them as far as combining them with other powers go.

At this time we are "grandfathering in" all those who have had their magic. (with the exception of powers that have been purged. All those powers are now gone.) This means they may have more than two powers because they have had them in the past. Though, if people are willing to give up any powers that's fine. :) All new characters will abide by the new rules. If a character gets purged, then they lose the rights to their magic if they are reregistered.

There is a limit on how many times a power can be given out. Each power will vary. Please see the power description to see if it is available. For example, Only 1 character can have lightning, 2 cats can have ice shield, 5 characters can have telepathy, etc...once those are filled up, if a person asks for that power, they can't have it and will have to choose another ability. We may make exceptions to some powers having more than the quoted number of characters to them. The word may is the imperative word here. Powers that we cannot give to any new characters will be "locked".

You can make up powers if you want, but I won't accept every power sent in to me. We are trying to keep the magical powers to being an extention of or have strong ties to cats (i.e.~Cats seem to disappear quickly, thus the reason for having teleport, fade, camouflage, and shadowing). Things I tend to negate are powers that are too strong; that change nature too much; and that are too "sex" oriented. If you make up a new power, please include what it has to do with cats so that we can consider it as an option.

New players may be asked not to use any magical abilities for the first month or two so that we can determine if you can use them.

If the power says "Locked" below the power's title, then we are no longer giving that power out to anyone.

Castor can make those within a 20 feet radius see only darkness, essentially blinding them for 10 minutes (or approximately ten posts). The closer the castor gets to the 10 minute marker, the weaker he/she gets, and bits of light can get through. Castor can't make it dark again for another hour because he has to "recharge his batteries". Someone outside the radius of darkness only sees confused cats. Cannot combine with Stealth. It is basically the same as Shadowing, except it's for light colored cats and will work as opposite to Shadowing (Fade can be better seen at night than day as Shadowing can be better seen during the day than at night).
Cannot be combined with Camouflage or Stealth.

Opposite of healing, when a castor cat bites into another cat, the victim starts having it's life drained from it until if falls into a sleep-induced coma; It takes five posts for the victim to succumb. But, as the victim succumbs, the castor will start to get weaker as well. Castor is considered one step behind victim in getting weaker. (i.e.~if victim is on post 3 of being weakened, castor is on post 2.) If caster hold victim continuously for 6 total posts, caster will fall into a sleep-induced coma as well. If caster lets go before the 5th post, it takes that many posts to regain health. (i.e.~if victim was held for 4 posts, it would take 4 posts for victim to get strength back and 3 posts for cater to gain strength back.) If victim is caught again before totally healing, it takes fewer posts to succumb. (i.e.~if victim was caught for 4 posts, then released for 2 and caught again, then it will only take 3 posts to succumb). Victim and caster of Harm cannot be healed by a magical healer. If victim succumbs, victim will not wake up again for anywhere between 2 and 48 hours. There is a final lifespark in all cats that harm can't put out, thereby keeping the cat alive unless killed another way.
Cannot be combined with Healing or anything from the Invisibility or Defense Catagory.

heals physical injuries and diseases; doesn't effect such things as malnutrition, mental illness, fatigue; cannot affect life-long problems (i.e. deafness in a cat who was born that way) for healing prayer - it is not 100% foolproof, since this is a prayer to the EC for healing in His behalf; two healers needed for poison; cat must hit puberty before praying. Castor can create a rubbery substance that forms around character. While wearing it, castor has a bouncier step when walking and if falling, will bounce a little rather than injure self too much. If castor falls from more than 25 feet, then bubble will break and castor is injured. Sharp objects (such as claws) are deflected a little, but can penetrate if deep enough. If penetrated, bubble will pop like a balloon (which could hurt either the castor or someone nearby with flying pieces of rubber). Castor can have it on for only 15 minutes (or 15 posts). Castor cannot create another bubble for 24 hours. 2-D
