THE PERFORMANCE PORTION (scales, sight reading, etc...)OF YOUR FINAL BEGINS ON MONDAY!

The Week of June 5, 2017
Questions??? See Mr. Blessington in the Band Room on the lower level in room 12.

Monday 6/5:

PERFORMANCE FINAL EXAMS BEGIN TODAY!
Are you ready?? Did you practice?
Be prepared to perform on your instrument the following:

At least 3 scales: 2 Major and 1 chromatic. Scales will be chosen for you. The key signatures will include up to 4#s and 4bs. Additionally, strings, some 7th graders and ALL 8th graders will be required to perform one minor scale. There is a 2 octave requirement for all 7th and 8th grade students.

Several portions of your spring concert music chosen by Mr. B.

Sight reading (performing) a piece of music you have never seen before.

Please remember: If you are able to demonstrate the above skills at a level typical of the average player in your grade, your improvement on your instrument will be obvious and will be primed to continue to improve! That is what it's all about! Improving your abilities and your capacity to perform more advanced (and more interesting) music! No one can practice for you and Mr. B. is not a Wizzard! Your improvement comes from YOUR efforts and YOUR work guided by Mr. B. No one can do these things for you. So..... you want to be a good musician? WORK FOR IT and Mr. B. will be there to guide you every step of the way!
