Vince and Joey spent the last week in Nashville
working on the album with Derek
and Bryan.
Vince spent two days on guitars and emerged with a song and a half to show
for it (rapture and stay, respecively), but we are getting more and more used
to the idea that it takes a long time to create a proffesional sounding album.
There will be an amazing difference between the album we are working on, and
our Absolute Zero EP. Joey spent the remaining time working on vocals and
acoustic guitars. His lead vocal on Rapture is finished and Everyone is very
close to being finished. We are planning to return after the 15th of December
for a few days, and to hit it really hard during the first two weeks of Januaray.
Geronimo Rex will be back at the Shamrock in Monroe, LA, on Friday, December
14th. So come out and see us. Also go ahead and make plans to attend the biggest
NEW YEARS SHOW in Jackson on December 31st at Hal
and Mal's with Infinite
North and Absence
of Concern. The show last New Years was big, and this one will be even
bigger. So go ahead and mark your calenders.

Sorry for the delays in the updates, but the bands has been recording their debut album for Self Reliance Records during the last 3 weeks and have just returned from Nashville. Catch the band at the Shamrock in Monroe, LA, on June the 14th. As for news on the album...producer Derek George, and co-producer Bryan White have been wonderful help in shaping what is going to be a great sounding record. The recording has been taking place in Bryan White's Studio, in Nashville, TN. So far the band has set the groundwork for these songs:
Everyone
Fading
You
Broken
in Two
Another
Yesterday
Lipstick
Contagious
Oxygen
Saving
Roses
Absolute
Zero
Down
Stay
Fever
Shaken
Rapture
Ryan
and Joey
have finished all of the drum and bass tracks, Vince
and James have knocked out a lot of the guitar tracks, and Richie
has laid down a few keyboard tracks. The band should be returning to work
on vocals and guitar/keyboard overdubs in July. The band are hoping for a
late September or early November release date, at which point www.geronimorex.com
should be unveiled.
04/24/2001
Geronimo Rex is playing Friday the 27th of
April at Hal

which is much bigger. We'll be playing from Saturday from 8:45 'till 10:00
p.m. We follow Blue
Mountain and will be playing opposite Earth,
Wind, and Fire, so we need everybody there to show us some support.

George (our producer) that country star Bryan
White wants to co-produce the album. This means we will do all the recording
in Brian's personal studio in Nashville (basically unlimited access to his
studio). We will set up on Sunday the 13th, and should start laying down basic
tracks the next day. We will be in and out of the studio for the next few
months. As of yet, it's impossible to estimate when the album will be released,
but it will be soon, and it will be on Self-Reliance Records. The band is
currently in the process of preparing Demos of new songs for the album.
