We at Shoutweb think this is one of the best albums of the year! The album also features Chino Moreno (Deftones),Tom Araya (Slayer), Grady Avenell (Will Haven) and Sean Lennon.

The masked Iowa rockers walked away from this week's Kerrang! Awards in London with three honors, while leaving a path of destruction in their wake. According to sources on the scene, the fun began when the group's "Wait And Bleed" was named Best Single, and the band celebrated by smashing glasses on its table. Upon hitting the stage, Slipknot DJ Sid slugged percussionist Shawn Crahan after a coin toss, and the band then picked up its award without uttering a word. Next up came the band's acceptance of the Best International Live Act award, which saw the group smash its chairs and the microphone before frontman Corey Taylor simply thanked the group's fans. Finally, Slipknot picked up its third Kerrang! award of the evening, Best Band In The World, and celebrated by flipping off the crowd. Amid the mayhem, the band also found time to set its table on fire. While Slipknot stole the spotlight in more ways than one, Kerrang! spread the love around to numerous acts this year. Recent Ozzfest grads Queens Of The Stone Age were named Best International Newcomer, while the Deftones' "White Pony" earned the Best Album award. Blink-182's "All The Small Things" was named Best Video, while Foo Fighters, Marilyn Manson, Motorhead, Ross Robinson, Hundred Reasons, Napalm Death, One Minute Silence, and Stereophonics also picked up awards.

SLIPKNOT have revealed they have almost completed four new songs for inclusion on their new album. Speaking to www.rollingstone.com, Number 1 said that the band were "foaming at the mouth" to write new material, and have approximately 30 ideas for songs, with four nearing completion. The four tracks are as-yet-untitled, and the band don't plan to play any of their new material live on their current tour, which is set to end on November 15. Number 6 added: "We keep it special for us, so we wanna keep it special for everybody else. We're trying to keep the mystique of the second album so when people put it on, they're like, 'Wow!'" Slipknot won three gongs at this week's Kerrang! awards - for Best International Live Act, Single Of The Year and Best Band In The World. They celebrated by smashing up and setting fire to their tables and chairs.

Hardcore act Slipknot leads the nominations for the Kerrang! Awards 2000 with six nods, including best band in the world, best album and best video. Korn earned five nominations, while Blink 182 collected four. British acts Stereophonics, Iron Maiden and Muse each received two nominations. The 14 categories are voted on by music industry panels, journalists, and Kerrang! readers. The awards ceremony will be held Aug. 29 at London's Hammersmith Palais. In other Slipknot news, the band will release a bonus track special edition of its self-titled platinum album. Six additional tracks are included on the album including "Surfacing" (live), "Despise" (demo), "Interloper" (demo), "Spit It Out" (demo), "Wait And Bleed" (remix)" and the new single "Get This." Also, a controversy erupted over the cancellation of the band's Aug. 30 show in Dublin, Ireland. According to reports, complaints from a parental group about the stage behavior of Slipknot precipitated the cancellation. Promoters claim the show was scrapped because of "logistical" reasons.

SLIPKNOT are releasing a digipak of their platinum-selling debut release with SIX ADDITIONAL TRACKS! "Surfacing" (Live), "Despise" (Demo), "Interloper" (Demo), "Spit It Out" (Remix), "Wait And Bleed" (Remix) and an all-new track called "Get This" will be included on this 8-panel format digipak with new artwork. The band are also working on a ground-breaking video for their single "Wait and Bleed"...

I know this isn't Slipknot but I love Manson and this is interesting.... Marilyn Manson has adopted the sign for Mercury as his new name. The shock rocker announced the name change at his Web site, MarilynManson.com. The symbol and concept of Mercury are based on what is left of the biblical Adam representing the primacy and androgyny associated with the mythical first man said Manson. Manson has posted the first single from his new album "Burning Flag" at the site. "Holy Wood: In The Shadow of The Valley of Death" is due out Oct. 24 on Nothing/Interscope Records.
