Join the Party!!

June and Jim, immensely proud of their "little girl," held an Open House to celebrate Kim's graduation from college. Many were there to share in the joy of the moment, and share in the joy they did! I am grateful to all of those who attended the party to help me celebrate my moment. I am even more grateful to those who worked so hard to pull the party off: Mom, Dad, Deb and Whit. They each cleaned, menu planned, organized, set-up and cooked - and it will be a wonderful memory for me.

Join everyone in the celebration, the food and the friendship......

Neighbors, old friends and family all gathered at June and Jim's house to celebrate Kim's graduation. Those who are most important to Kim were invited, and the vast majority were able to make it. We had a wonderful time, with wonderful food that Jim prepared for everyone. We had a fantastic punch, pistachio chicken, two egg dishes, chips and salsa, and various other hors d'vors (okay, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree, but it wasn't in French, so forgive me if I can't spell!!).

And who could forget the cake?? It was a gorgeous confection, complete with cap, scroll, and, of course, purple trim and lettering!! What else?? It was a marble cake with buttercream frosting - YUM!!!

And, naturally, you can't have a party without a mishap. My lovely mother, Queen Slick Fingers, dropped a bottle of mustard in the kitchen and got it all over her. Some comic relief in the midst of some hard set-up work.
