 		 Joaquin Karcher  Joaquin Karcher: Architectural Designer and owner of One Earth Design, a local green building firm. He has 20 years experience in the green building field. He was elected to the board of the U.S. Green Building Council. He has lived in Taos for 13 years.

Summary Points
            * In Germany nearly all commercial and residential building is modular. 

           * The Earth Builders Guild has established new codes for adobe and other natural building products. 

            * Natural building is a big part of the industry. 

           * More promotion is needed of green building. Realtors can play a role in making sure clients are aware of green building concepts. 
     
            *  New natural materials are being developed that will be more efficient and cost less.
