Micanopy
Community Council
for the Arts, Inc.

Since its founding in the early 1800s, Micanopy has had a tradition of supporting and encouraging cultural and artistic endeavors. It is in the spirit of that tradition and for the purpose of enhancing an appreciation of the arts in the greater Micanopy area that the Micanopy Community Council for the arts was formed.

The proposed activities of our organization include:

• An annual juried fine arts and fine crafts show, Art Under the Oaks
  
• A permanent co-op gallery, Gallery Under the Oaks, featuring local and member artists
  
• Workshops with local and visiting artists
  
• Educational programs featuring both visual and performing arts
  
• Quarterly mini-shows held outdoors in the downtown historic district
  
• Providing assistance to other area arts organizations as needed.
