Now that you have PaintShop Pro Open you are ready to start editing your sprites! Let's Click File and Open
You need to open your directory where you exported to. Find your birdhouse and click on it.
Inside there will be two folders. Click both folders and open both of the lamp on and lamp off sprites.
You can think of a layer as many sheets of paper piled ontop of each other.Remember tracing paper back from the old days? You would lay a piece of tracing paper over a picture and trace the image onto the tracing paper. You could see the picture thru the tracing paper and could keep laying papers ontop. This is how layers work. You work on seperate pieces of "paper" (layers) and then can combine them to make one image.
Open your layer Palette from your View, Toolbars Menu. Make sure that you have the lamp_off sprite selected (active). Hold your mouse over where it says layer one.
Now Take your Dropper. Make sure that your background layer is the active (highlighted) layer in your Layer Palette. And right click with the dropper anywhere on the yellow in your sprite.
Now when you mouse over the background layer in your layers palette it will be just a yellow box. No Lamp!
Your layers were automatically merged. On your layers palette you will have only the background layer.
Follow all of the same steps above on your lamp_on sprite. Since this is a birdhouse and not a lamp we will not be lightening the birdhouse. Yes, when you play the game you will have the option to turn it ON, but nothing will happen visually to the birdhouse. We cloned the lamp to make this birdhouse so that it will set on a table.
