Joel Franklin MULLINS Sr. was born in 1776 in Charlotte County, Virginia. ⁽²⁾ He died in Rutherford County, Tennessee. ⁽⁶⁾ Will: Executors: Amzi Jones & Thomas Mullins, Jr. Sale of Property $3,721.67, cotton $245.29, debts paid $253.77 balance $3713.19. Three minor children Edmund, John, & Joel were assigned guardianship to Thomas R. Mullins, Jr.

If date of death, October 14, 1834, furnished by Eloise Mullins, Bradley is correct then one child, Cornelia was born after father's death and the other children Joel had with Sylvia Read would have been minors. Why were only three minor children listed? I have chosen not to record date of death in the record until I have further documentation.

He was married to Rebecca CARY (daughter of John CARY and Mrs. CARY) on Oct 4 1809 in Charlotte County, Virginia. ⁽²⁾ Rebecca CARY was born about 1780.⁽²⁾ She died before 1827 in Rutherford County, Tennessee.⁽²⁾ Joel Franklin MULLINS Sr. and Rebecca CARY had the following children:
