My Front Porch

Hello...Welcome to my front porch. I have made some iced tea and lemonade for you. Just grab up a wicker chair and relax. I hope you enjoy yourself. :0) Ready? Let's get started.

There was a family of three who lived out of town and it was back when money was scarce and doctors were a good few miles away. There was only one child in the household at the time and he was three years old. Now, this little boy loved it outside, and picked any kind of container that had water in it and helped himself with a drink. Lloyd, the father of the three year old, always started the wood stove with a small can of kerosene he had always set on the back porch. The little boy carried a can around with him, and when he got to the back porch, he poured a little kerosene in the can and took a drink. His mother heard him gasping for breath, and was frantic on what to do. But, a few days before, she remembered she read that in case of one drinking kerosene, give them mustard and bread or biscuits. So, as she put the child in the high chair, the father was out in the truck getting it ready to take the lad to the doctor. He backed too far and was stuck in the mud. The little boy's mother told him not to move and to eat all the biscuits with the mustard. She went to help push the truck out of the mud. Finally, they made it the doctor, and he told her, she done the best thing she could for the little boy making him eat the mustard and biscuits. You may want to know what happened to this little boy after all these years, ???

I married him =:0)

This story was told to me by my mother in law,Virginia Cook. Thank You, Mom....Love, Qujette

Daddy told me of the time when my great Grandma was having some trouble keeping the neighbors pigs from sleeping under her porch. She told the neighbor if he didn't keep them penned up, she was going to roast one. Well after a long length of time the pigs were still sleeping under Granny's porch. One day the neighbor came by and Granny asked him to supper. He set down to eat his own roasted pig. :) Thank you Daddy. :0)
