My newest project is an anthology of very short stories, the first of which is titled "The Escapist Artist." My art style will be more experimental, and the stories will be more abstract than my previous works. Please enjoy them.
I'd like to explain what this comic is about. For my final project in Textiles class, I created a series of four hats, which you can see on the Other Media page. For my final Drawing project, I've described the process of making one of the hats, panel by panel.
1: Washing the wool of dirt and excrement (disgusting). 2: Machine-drying.
3: Loading the wool into a crock-pot of boiling water to dye it. 4: Selecting the dyes and adding them to the pot.
5: Take a break while waiting for the dyes to set. 6-7: Removing the dyed wool from the pot.
8: Carding the wool to comb the fibres. 9: Basting fabric on either side of a fluffy layer of wool (so it doesn't move around when felting it).
10-16: Stomping and punching the wool to make the fibres lock together (the end result is felt). 17: Cutting and measuring the felt to the shape of a hat.
18: Embellishing with beads and smaller felt details, and finally, modelling the finished result!
