~ History: Poor Asuka. She was chosen to be a evangelion pilot at age five, in accordance to the Marduk Institute, and was running down the corridor to her mother's bedroom to tell her the very day her mother committed sucicide. Asuka was the one who discovered her mother's body. Her mother wished Asuka to be a doll, so that she could get the little girl to do as she pleased. She wanted Asuka to die with her, after Asuka's father left them, but Asuka didn't want to, like any sensible girl. One of Asuka's dolls was 'killed' and spattered with blood, a very disturbing scene.
Asuka was traumatized by all this, and spent some time in a isolated Psychologist's white room. To hide it her broken heart and hidden feelings, she acts very bossy and proud, a protective shell to guard the little girl inside. She clings to her pride and her accomplishments. She wants people to love her and respect her, to heal the wound caused my her mother's wish that she was a mere doll. She told Shinji once that the only reason she pilots her EVA is to show people that she is here, alive and perfect...
or so she wishes.
