Ghost in the Shell

Set in a futuristic world where cultures have meshed together and cyborgs and androids are commonplace, a criminal known as The Puppet Master has been infiltrating the government and hacking into people's "ghosts" (which is described as "the soul" or a person's brain) for an unknown reason. It's up to Major Motoko Kusanagi, her partner cyborg Bateau, and mostly human Togusa to track the Puppet Master down and find out what's his agenda.
