Annotated Bibliography

The following is an example from my Annotated Bibliography;

Focus
The topic that I will be arguing for my extended research paper is whether or not medication is the best and most logical treatment for Parkinson’s disease. This is not an issue that many people would consider to be important, but Parkinson’s disease is an illness that affects many people and at this point has no cure. The main technique doctors use to ease the pain of the disease is to administer medication. There is controversy inside the medical community that medication is not the best treatment for the illness, and I will provide sources and alternative solutions to prove that other methods of treatment will benefit the patient more than medication.

Rationale
The subject of Parkinson’s disease as a whole is very important to me, because my grandmother was diagnosed in 2000 and suffered from the disease until she passed away in 2003. I watched her suffer side effects from the medication and the financial burden of prescriptions. If other treatments were explored I truly believe that patients could live with the disease more comfortably.

Methods
My paper will be based on academic research done through online resources, dissertations, newspaper articles, personal interviews, and researching relevant foundations dedicated to Parkinson’s research. I will determine if a resource is credible by critically analyzing the source and determining in the author has enough background information to speak about Parkinson’s disease.
